ARPORA: Deepika Redkar was elected unopposed as sarpanch of Arpora-Nagoa panchayat on Tuesday. The post had to be given to another panch member on rotation basis.
Deepika was elected unopposed as only one nomination was received by Returning Officer Krishna Gadekar.
In the seven-member panchayat, all the six members voted for Redkar and as there was no opposition she was declared sarpanch.
After her election, Redkar said that her topmost priority would be to develop a playground and construct a panchayat ghar.
“I will take all the panch members into confidence and go ahead with development work in the village,” she said.
