3 activists inducted into Congress

MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar on Wednesday appealed to the people of Goa to join the party in order to bring change, as three social activists namely Gina Pereira, Sabita Mascarenhas, and Maria Fernandes have been inducted into the party.

He also said that they cannot win the elections on their own and the BJP has brought the Aam Admi Party into the frontline. 

Newly appointed Working President of GPCC Aleixo Sequeira, Elvis Gomes, M K Shaikh, Joe Dias, besides several other leaders attended the function to induct the three social activists at Margao.

Girish said, “The BJP government is engaged in making privatisation of all the factors by giving pain to the people.”

“The POGO bill proposed by the Revolutionary Goans (RG) is against the constitution and it cannot be passed in the assembly,” said Aleixo Sequeira.

He also said that AAP and RG are planning to divide the votes of Congress candidates in the upcoming elections. 

Elvis Gomes alleged that the BJP government has failed on all fronts. “This BJP government is an illegal government. The Bhumiputra Adhikarni Bill brought by the BJP is a deliberate attempt to disturb the people,” he stated. 

Social activities Gina Pereira, Sabita Mascarenhas and Maria Fernandes expressed their views and pledged to work to strengthen the party.
