RAIA: Varca Pedda defeated Jaguar Boys, Benaulim, 3-1, via tie-breaker to clinch the 18th Sereno Cardozo memorial 8-a-side inter-ward football tournament played at Illeant ground, Benaulim.
Varca Pedda netted a goal each through Gaurang and Aaron, while Jaguar Boys netted a goal each through Vishal and Alijo.
At the end of regulation time, both teams settled for a 1-1 draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Varca Pedda proved to be the better shooters.
David Rebello and Vencilla Fernandes, Benaulim Village Panchayat’s panch members gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Felix Fernandes, dignitaries and club officials.
