EDC to improve Patto infrastructure

Economic Development Corporation Ltd has taken urgent steps to improve the infrastructure at Patto Plaza with a modern outlook. The work of improvement of infrastructure is scheduled to start from October 1, 2009 and will be completed in phases, so as not to disrupt the activities of entire Patto Plaza.
The work costing about Rs 920 lakh has been awarded to Mumbai based M/s Kanaka Infratech Ltd. The designs and estimates have been prepared by the Goa based consultants M/s Rahul Deshpande & Associates.
One of the important features of the contract entrusted to M/s Kanaka Infratech Ltd is that the work will be done according to Milestones fixed for completion of the work. The Milestones in terms of time periods correspond to areas of Patto Plaza which could be taken up for work in phases.
The salient features of the proposed development includes construction of hot mix concrete roads, construction of footpaths covered with concrete pavers, widening or reduction of footpaths wherever necessary, construction of new approach road for Patto Plaza, construction of new street light poles, cables and fixtures, etc.
