MARGAO: Author and poet Dinesh Patel is set to release his next book, Images of Faith – SFX Saint of the East – Exposition and Churches of Old Goa, next week.
The author who experiments with different genres each time has also revealed his interest for photography, having provided vivid and captivating photos for the book dedicated to the patron saint of Goa. He earlier provided illustration for his children’s book.
The ninth book comes close on the heels of his second children’s series Goan Tales 2 Mudskippers dream and other stories. Image of Faith is basically a pictorial rendering that captures the moods of the 17th Exposition of the Sacred Relics of St Francis Xavier (2014-15).
Divided into two parts, the book focuses on the Patron Saint of Goa, depicting his life and struggle with a chapter dedicated to what we can learn from his life. The book also highlights twenty-eight odd places of tourist interest at Old Goa, including the churches and ruins that bear testimony to the illustrious history. It is published by Dream Phoenix.
