CHINCHINIM: CDJ Ribandar defeated SCC Cavelossim 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 20th Our Lady of Merces eight-a-side inter-village football tournament, organised by Sirlim Sports Club, at Church ground, Chinchinim, on Tuesday.
Deeptish Sawant of CDJ Ribandar scored in the 37th minute. Within fifteen minutes Alex Rodrigues equalised for Cavelossim.
The teams battled hard to net the winning goal but the match winner was scored by Diptesh Sawant for CDJ Ribandar in the 63rd minute.
