MARGAO: An eye specialist working at a clinic in Nuvem was found murdered at his residence in Betalbatim on Wednesday.

The Colva police said that the body of Nishant alias Nirvana Bharat was found stuffed into a box attached to his bed, with his hands and legs tied up. Bharat, 27, was a native of Bihar, said the police. The police suspect that he was killed on Tuesday.
The murder came to light when the hospital staff visited his house, as he had failed to report to work, and was not answering his cell phone.
A dog squad and team of forensic experts were pressed into service. The police have registered the case under Section 302 of the IPC, and have sent the body to the South Goa District Hospital for the post-mortem examination. The police have sent wireless messages about the murder to all stations across Goa and beyond.
