CURCHOREM: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on Saturday urged the people to follow all the COVID norms issued by the government including the MHA while celebrating the forthcoming Ganesh Chaturthi to arrest the further spread of the infection.
Speaking after garlanding the portrait of Lokmanya Tilak on “Patrakar Din” organised by Sanguem-Quepem Patrakar Sangh, at Curchorem, he said, “There is no need to put any further restrictions by the government, but it is everyone’s duty to follow and maintain social distancing, wear a face mask, wash hands and avoid moving out unnecessarily not only during any festivals, but till the virus disappears or medical solution is found.”
“There are around 22 Sarvajanik mandals in talukas of Dharbandora, Sanguem and Quepem and 16 of them have assured that they will keep the idols only for one-and-half a day before immersion irrespective of their traditional days and follow all norms including regulating darshan,” said Cabral and sought the people’s cooperation.
