MARGAO: With the State hosting the Lusofonia Games later this year, the Margao Traffic Cell has mooted a proposal before the PWD to widen the Ambaji, Fatorda–Tata showroom, Nuvem NH-17 on a priority basis.
Traffic officials pointed out that there’s enough space along side the existing road for widening without acquisition of additional land. “Barring the stretch from Honda junction to Nuvem Church, the entire stretch from Ambaji to Tata showroom can be widened without much difficult. This would ease the existing traffic situation and help manage traffic in a better way during the Lusofonia games”, the officials said.

Replying to a question, the official said the ball now lies in the court of the PWD department since it would involve arranging the necessary funds to take up the road widening work.
