PANJIM: Don Bosco Oratory scored a 4-1 win over Saligao Sporting Club in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match played at Assonora ground, on Friday.
With both teams having a good pool of talent, the teams matched each other in the opening minutes.
However, at the half hour mark, Don Bosco finally broke the deadlock through Nijam Shaikh.
In the second half, Saligao Sporting came back strongly and restored parity through Teneil Pereira in the 48th minute.
The Don Bosco side managed to restore their lead in the 52nd minute through Aswan Vaz before Raul inflated the tally to 3-1. Aswan Vaz scored his brace in the 72nd minute to take the final tally to 4-1.
In another match at Astro Turf ground, Fatorda, Cortalim Villagers clawed back to beat Rumdamol Sports Club 3-1.
Rumdamol SC took the lead in the 23rd minute through Rahul Bhosle but Cortalim Villagers made it all square just before the breather through Lesley Xavier.
Cortalim Villagers played much better football maintaining ball possession and outplaying their opposition. Rufino Fernandes handed Cortalim the lead in the 73rd minute and Rohan Yadav took the match beyond their oppositions reach in the 80th minute.
At Dramapur ground, Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda thumped CRC Chinchinim 8-1.
Absalom Soares scored a fine hat-trick for the winners while Stewart Noronha and Tanish Lotlikar registered a brace. Bryan Pinto and Reanzil Barreto scored a goal each.
Elviston Pereira pulled a goal back for Chinchinim.
