MARGAO: The PWD has filed its reply in the PIL filed by Savio Dias in the High Court of Bombay at Goa, challenging the maintainability and the intervention of the court in the Margao sewerage leak matter.
The petition of Savio Dias demanding proper management of sewage and prevention of leakages in water bodies in Margao and other areas came up for hearing earlier this week.
In its reply on behalf of the Sewerage Corporation, the PWD has claimed that it had taken utmost care that sewage would not leak into the ground, and the new pipelines and the sewage treatment plants would take care of the sewage problems of Margao and surrounding areas.
The PWD, in its reply, has also demanded that the petition be dismissed as there is a lot being done to get the sewerage treatment system in place.
The next hearing will be held on April 22.
