Garbage pollutes Margao KTC Creek, Raises Public Health Concerns

A water creek located behind the Margão KTC bus stand has become a dumping ground for plastic bags, empty bottles, and other waste—posing serious environmental and public health risks. Despite the visible accumulation of garbage for several months, concerned authorities have reportedly failed to take action.

The unchecked dumping has led to severe waterlogging, especially during rains, creating hazardous conditions for both nearby residents and pedestrians. Locals fear that stagnant water and pollution could lead to vector-borne diseases and further degrade the living environment.
