PANJIM: After getting a favourable verdict from the High Court of Bombay at Goa to register the death of social activist Bismarque Dias as murder, his friends will launch a boat named “Bismarque, the unsinkable” in River Mandovi with the aim to spread environmental awareness.
Speaking to Herald, Sudeep Dalvi said the boat with the theme of Bismarque’s ideology and love for nature would be launched on his birthday May 23. He said the boat will be launched from the area where Bismarque’s body was recovered on November 7, 2015.
“Our aim is to spread the message of Bismarque and keep his thoughts alive as inspiration to the young generation to fight anti-environmentalists,” Dalvi said.
“This boat will carry Bismarque’s message of love towards nature. We will spread awareness towards the environment, life in the rivers and life in every form, towards protection, conservation and taking care of mother nature’s wellbeing,” another friend said.
The boat will be launched in the morning and in the evening a birthday celebration will be held at Panjim, from the spot where Bismarque started his Musical Warriors to resist the land mafia.
The group will also release ‘Lion of Juvem Unlimited…’, the first album of ‘Musical Warriors’ at the hands of Seby Fernandes, the senior most member of the group.
