PANJIM: PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has emphasised the need for greater focus on agriculture to ensure that the income of the farmers’ gets doubled in the coming years.
“Unless the farmer is assured of proper remuneration and encouraged to diversify crop cultivation, among others, the agriculture sector will face problems. Concerted and complementary efforts have to be made by all stakeholders to prevent any kind of distress to farmers,” Dhavalikar said while addressing the gathering at the commencement of paddy harvesting season by launching of harvesting machine organised by Madhavrao Dhavalikar Trust at Kundaim.
He said, “I call upon the farmers to use modern techniques of agriculture and bring their fallow land under cultivation for increasing farm yield”.
