MARGAO: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao, rejected the bail application of Ananda Ganpat Jadhav, Branch Manager of the Central Bank of India, Curchorem Branch who was arrested by the police for swindling bank customers of huge amount of money.

The court issued notices to the Curchorem Police, the defence advocate, and the assistant public prosecutor, and arguments were heard from all parties. The Curchorem Police opposed the bail application in court.
Police reported that the case originated from a complaint lodged by Cristalina Coutinho, a resident of Sasnamoddi, Curchorem. Coutinho alleged that on 27 May 2024, at the Central Bank of India’s Curchorem Branch, an amount of Rs 14.28 lakh was dishonestly transferred from her account numbers to his. The transfer was allegedly carried out by Jadhav and a co-accused, Tanvi Vast, without the consent or knowledge of the complainant or her family members.
Jadhav was subsequently arrested in connection with the crime. The investigation is being led by PSI Mayur Panshikar of Curchorem Police Station.
In a related development, Jadhav has filed an anticipatory bail application with the sessions judge in Margao, which is scheduled to be heard on November 29.
