Riot of colours at Carnival in Margao

MARGAO: The commercial capital witnessed a riot of colour and music as Xaxtikars lined up in thousands to watch the carnival float parade from Holy Spirit Church Square to Margao Municipal square on Sunday.

MARGAO: The commercial capital witnessed a riot of colour and music as Xaxtikars lined up in thousands to watch the carnival float parade from Holy Spirit Church Square to Margao Municipal square on Sunday.
The parade was flagged off by Tourism Minister, Dilip Parulekar in the presence of Fisheries Minister, Avertano Furtado, MLA Rajan Naik, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, MMC Chairperson Arthur D’Silva and other dignitaries.
Floats with themes centered on social evils were the cynosure of all eyes, while floats showcasing traditional occupations from Quepem, Curtorim and Shiroda drew praises from spectators. Pg2
