SIOLIM: Siolim Congress candidate Delilah Lobo’s first task which she says she has almost accomplished is to be seen as a potential future MLA of Siolim in month’s time, and not as just the wife of former BJP minister Michael Lobo.
She recently finished her second round of door-to-door campaign and has begun corner meetings. Lobo expressed confidence in her victory in the Siolim constituency with maximum lead.

“During these 50 days of campaigning, I have received positive responses from the people. I am confident that people will definitely go for a change and our victory is confirmed,” said Lobo.
“The first thing that the people of Siolim want is their MLA to continue to meet them throughout the five-year term in the form of corner meetings and understand their problem and not once in five years what MLAs have done in the past,” said Lobo.
“This time people of Siolim will vote for congress and it will be a woman candidate,” said Lobo responding to a remark that Congress never won a seat in Siolim. “One must not say that I am a non-Solar. Verla, Canca, and Parra are connected to each other. Only the panchayats are different,” added Lobo.
“During the door-to-door campaign, the two major issues that people have complained about are irregular water supply and unemployment. Water is the basic necessity that the people of Siolim are struggling for. In terms of employment, there are few families in which four people are employed with the government while in many families members don’t even have a private job. This needs to be changed,” said Lobo.
Pathetic road conditions and proper health faculties with full-fledged hospitals in Siolim are also a need of the hour here, said Lobo.
Last week Lobo completed her second round of door-to-door campaign and has commenced mini corner meetings. At least three corner meetings are held every day in different wards of the Siolim constituency.
