PANJIM: Don Bosco Oratory (DBO), Fatorda thumped St Mathew SC, Azossim 5-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 10th London Trophy, organized by Goa Velha Sports Club, at Goa Velha SC ground, on Monday.
Edgar Noronha of DBO had the first crack at the St Mathew goal which however went over the bar. Soon, Hanslum Furtado put them ahead with a fine header in the 18th minute off a cross from Ashley Araujo.
St Mathew keeper Nixon Rodrigues dived full length to keep DBO’s Charlton Pereira’s shot out.
Minguel Barretto doubled the lead for DBO and after the breather, Hanslum secured his brace off goalmouth melee in the 52nd minute.
Charlton Dias made it 4-0 when he placed the ball into the nets.
However, Olvin Cardozo reduced the margin for St Mathew SC through a spot-kick in the 62nd minute which was awarded as Savio Quadros handled the ball in the danger area. Hanslum completed his hat-trick to make it 5-1 in favour of DBO in the 64th minute.
