vasco: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Nandadeep Raut has appealed to vendors and shopkeepers to voluntarily shut down their shops as part of the efforts to stop the spread of Covid.
Raut pointed out to the case of a health worker from Vasco being tested positive and that her relative is a vegetable vendor in the market.
Further, there were cases detected in the MMC building in the health office, which has workers who live in parts of Vasco. The area near the health office and the post office in Vasco were also comparatively empty on Friday.
Raut also referred to the recent review meeting with the Chief Minister and felt a Vasco lockdown will be implemented.
