PORVORIM: Chief Minister
Laxmikant Parsekar admitted on the Floor of the House of having received inputs
of a possible terror attack on the State.
“Inputs have been received from Central Intelligence
from time to time about possible terror attacks in the State,” Parsekar told
the House refusing to disclose details stating that these cannot be shared in
the interest of the security of the Nation.

The Chief Minister said that
the Anti Terrorism Squad, along with other security agencies, are maintaining a
close watch to identify security suspects or dangerous elements in the State to
thwart any kind of terror attack or plan to harm or disturb the peace and
tranquility of the State and other security hazards.
Parsekar, who is also the Home
Minister, was replying to a question tabled by Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte,
who sought to know various measures initiated by the State against terror
attacks.
He said that the inputs
received from Central Intelligence were shared with all Special Branch Centres,
Police Stations, Coastal Security police stations and ATS with specific
direction to keep a sharp watch and collect intelligence in respect of all
suspicious elements.
