Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is expected to inaugurate Goa’s much-awaited Porvorim–Guirim Elevated Corridor on September 10, 2026.

Goa Public Works Department Minister Digambar Kamat said Gadkari had accepted the invitation to inaugurate the project, paving the way for its formal opening. The proposed date has been finalised, subject to the completion of arrangements and the confirmation of the inauguration programme.
The six-lane elevated corridor, constructed along National Highway 66, is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Porvorim and improve the movement of vehicles along one of North Goa’s busiest highway stretches. The 5.15-km project has been described as a major intervention to address increasing traffic pressure and strengthen connectivity between Porvorim and Guirim.
The corridor is expected to provide smoother travel for daily commuters, commercial vehicles and visitors travelling between Panaji, Mapusa and other parts of North Goa.
Further details regarding the inauguration ceremony, traffic arrangements and the participation of other dignitaries are expected to be announced by the authorities.
