Natarajan, had, as minister for environment and forests, ordered the suspension of environmental clearances to 93 mining leases on September 12, 2012, two days after Goa government suspended all mining operations in the State.
“I do not know what transpired between her (Natarajan) and the so called leader of Congress, Gandhi. Since she has made an allegation, there is substance to it. There is no smoke without fire,” Parsekar said, while responding to a question on the sidelines of a cabinet briefing Friday.
The chief minister replied in the positive when questioned whether the tussle between the two Congress leaders could have been the result of extreme delay in resolving the mining issue.
The long serving member of Congress and Gandhi family faithful, walked out of the party after launching an attack on Rahul Gandhi, claiming she followed his directions on green nod to projects but was vilified, humiliated and sidelined by the central leadership. She also alleged, during a press conference in New Delhi that UPA President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi did not give her a chance to meet them.
