QUEPEM: Dulu Tavadkar, staff of Quepem Deputy Collector Office suffered injuries after part of ceiling of the office collapsed on him, on Friday.
The incidence took place in the evening around 4.30 in the Deputy Collector’s office, which is in very bad condition, especially the ceiling, where the staff is working. Later, Tavadkar was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

It may be recalled that this is not the first incident that took place in the Deputy Collector office but similar incident had occurred three to four months back and that time the ceiling fell on the floor and nobody was injured.
Deputy Collector Nilesh Dhaigodkar had informed that he had already mentioned about the condition of office and the incident to Quepem PWD Assistant Engineer Desmond Cardozo. He had promised that the repair and maintenance work will be done shortly.
But Friday’s incident has put question mark on the responsibility of the Quepem PWD. The incident may have taken life of person due to utter negligence and carelessness. With condition of the office building becoming more dangerous, the Deputy Collector and PWD should act quickly before another incident occurs.
