PORVORIM: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza laid the foundation stone for the construction of 108 stalls on the first floor of Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) building at Mapusa market.
D’Souza laid the foundation stone in the presence of MMC Chairperson Sandeep Falari and other councillors.
D’Souza said there were complaints from the occupants of the shops in Mapusa market that the roof of the building was leaking. “Hence, MMC decided to construct 108 stalls on the first floor and the estimated cost is about Rs 1.64 crore.”
“These stalls will be sold at market price and the work order has been issued and the work is expected to be completed within a year. The project is being constructed by Goa State Urban Development Corporation,” informed D’Souza.
