PANJIM: All BJP MLAs, allies and over one lakh crowd came out for BJP prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s Vijay Sankalp rally on Sunday, but St Andre Vishnu Surya Wagh remained “absent” for the rally, a second time in two months.
However, the first one at the opening ceremony of IFFI was a government function while this one was a party function.
Another striking aspect of today’s rally was Alina Saldanha calling Modi as the most capable prime ministerial candidate in the country, adding that the people of Gujarat were happy and content with his administration, while calling for a change of government.
“India desperately needs a change of government and only the BJP with Shri Modiji at the helm can move the country along the path of rapid development,” she said.
Also while asking for special status for Goa under Article 371 of the Constitution she criticised both Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for not delivering on their assurances in this regard.
Mahdev Naik promised 27% reservation for OBC saying that this would be cleared at the January 15 cabinet meeting.
Also BJP President Rajnath singh today blamed Jawaharlal Nehru for the delay in Goa’s liberation.
It may be recalled that Wagh had distanced himself from the rally organization and had accused BJP of holding the massive political rally at a time when State witnessed a major tragedy leading to death of total 31 workers in Canacona.
