Hubli native held for robbery

The Maina Curtorim police have arrested a native of Hubli in connection with the robbery that took pace at Nuvem near Carmel college earlier this month.
Police inspector Sidhant Shirodkar informed that the accused was arrested from the Margao bus stand while he was trying to leave the state for Hubli.
He said the accused along with another person had waylaid a helper working for a multinational company at the Verna Industrial Estate and lifted away mobile phones after assaulting him.
The accused, who had come on a motorcycle, later came to the residence of the victim and took away four mobile chargers before making good their escape.
“Based on the description given the victim, the police had suspected the accused behind the offense. We had laid a trap after obtaining information that the accused is putting up in Hubli and arrested him at the Margao bus stand”, he said.
