MARGAO: The BJP is finally gearing up to field its candidates in two of the nine Zilla Panchayat constituencies in Salcete.
After making known to its allies and independents that the party will contest the coming polls from Davorlim, the BJP is gearing up to field its candidate for the Guirdolim ZP seat as well, which may leave Mickky Pacheco led Goa Vikas Party high and dry.
That the BJP will field candidate for the Guirdolim ZP constituency became evident when Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik said that the party will contest the coming election from the constituency. In fact, he went a step further and said that the Cuncolim unit of the party has finalised a list of 3-4 candidates for the Guirdolim ZP constituency.
When Herald drew attention of the GVP supremo to the BJP’s plan to contest from Guirdolim, Mickky said that he would discuss with the BJP leadership on the Guirdolim seat. “May be since Guirdolim falls in Cuncolim constituency the BJP has drawn up plans to contest the seat. The matter will be discussed with the BJP leadership”, Mickky added.
