PANJIM: Shantesh Mhapshekar settled for silver at the U-12 All India East zone table tennis championships held at Siliguri, Bengal.
Presently ranked number 2 in the country, Shantesh lost to Suresh Raj from Tamil Nadu. Along his campaign, he defeated the likes of Mani Anirban, Arijit Ghosh and Mayukh Saha who are currently top players from West Bengal.
The youngster has now set his sight on the International tournament which is to be held at Noida where he will represent the country.
Shantesh is a student of St Britto’s High school, Mapusa and has been trained under the guidance of Diljit Velingkar.
