Vehicle pollution at Dona Paula

Let me thank the CCP for taking immediate steps to remove all the regular Carnival posters around Panjim especially at Miramar circle based on my letter been published in the O Heraldo. These posters were slated for Carnival celebrations but unfortunately remained there till last Thursday.

Another serious issue which I have noticed at Dona Paula near a resort and a popular construction site is that heavy trucks are often parked on the main road from early morning till evening. They come from other States via Bambolim.

While I was on my scooter in Dona Paula, black smoke was emanating from the exhaust stack of a heavy duty truck. Very often excessive oil consumption due to worn out valves and stem seals, sluggish rings from deposits contribute to black smoke and certainly such vehicles do not possess pollution certificate.

I was completely blanked out and could have met with an accident if another had to come from the opposite direction. Time the police penalise such polluting vehicles.
