Iron rod & wire was used as weapon to kill Paroda woman: SP Sunita Sawant 

Ubaldina Braganza was killed by a labourer whom she had hired to renovate her house on 21 November 2024

MARGAO: In the chilling murder at Paroda case, the accused who was arrested on Tuesday for the murder, was presented before the Quepem JMFC court on Wednesday and was given 14 days police custody. South Goa SP Sunita Sawant on Wednesday briefed that the accused Ramkumar Rawat used a metal rod and striked on the victim’s head, after which she fell unconscious. Later with the help of a wire he strangulated the woman to death.

Ubaldina who had come from London to do the renovation work of the house, was to leave for London in two days time.

A 57 year old woman, Ubalina Braganza from Modewado, Paroda was found dead inside her house on Thursday 21 November 2024. The neighbours found the body at around 2 pm. It was suspected that this was a murder case, since her face was smashed and jewellery and money was missing. The body was  sent for post mortem to South Goa District Hospital and forensic team  investigated the case.

The accused Ramkumar Rawat a resident of Madhya Pradesh was arrested for spine chilling murder on Monday 25 Nov. The arrest was made at his hometown Madhya Pradesh and was brought back to Quepem police station.

The accused was hired as a labourer for the house renovation work along with other labourers.

A case has been registered under 103(1) and 309(4)BNS. Rawat was involved in murdering 57-year-old woman, Ubaldina Braganza, in her residence at Paroda on 21 Nov.
