Borkar now a fugitive

CORTALIM: With efforts failing to nab the accused and former Sancoale sarpanch Ramakant Borkar in an alleged bribery case, the Anti-Corruption Branch of Directorate of Vigilance has pasted posters at various public places in Cortalim and other areas.

CORTALIM: With efforts failing to nab the accused and former Sancoale sarpanch Ramakant Borkar in an alleged bribery case, the Anti-Corruption Branch of Directorate of Vigilance has pasted posters at various public places in Cortalim and other areas.
The lookout notice calls upon the public to inform the police in case Borkar is spotted anywhere.It is now almost two months that the vigilance sleuths are trying to nab Borkar after his anticipatory bail application was rejected by the CBI court. Borkar thereafter preferred an appeal in the High Court which is pending.
Borkar is accused of accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe from builder Everton Vales of Dabolim to allegedly hide irregularities in the construction of commercial/residential building. 
Meanwhile, Narayan D Naik has filed another complaint with the Verna police enlisting various cases of misappropriation.
