PANJIM: When cases are sensitive and high profile they are handed to the specialized agency of Crime Branch for a thorough probe. But when the murder and property grabbing accused with multiple cases escapes or is made to escape with such brazen ease, can the same agency be trusted with the probe? Or should the people and the Opposition demand a court monitored probe into the Suleiman Khan case?
Now with this Suleiman Case, it looks that if at all some trust has to be put in the police system, they have to bring faith back into the administration and the government, the government has to do something drastic, so as to win over the confidence of the people. And as a first step the police must say, we shall handover this investigation to this judicial officer. And the judicial officer must not be chosen by the government. They must ask the High Court to spare a judicial officer or name a retired judicial officer so that he can monitor these investigations, so that people have faith.

In this case, it is just not possible to enable a single policeman to help Suleiman to escape. It has to be a bigger conspiracy. Of course this Suleiman claiming that 12 police personnel escorted him out of Goa is just not possible to believe. We know Goa Police well, they are not going to send so many police personnel to escort a criminal. At the most they may just push him across the border and tell him to get lost. So that fellow (Suleiman) cannot be believed fully, he is trying to exaggerate and trying to get some mileage out of it. But the fact is there is police connivance. So we have to investigate to what extent the connivance was. They cannot investigate the case, because they will not do anything that will harm the interest of the government. So people have to decide what to do.

They finish the future of so many people. What is the guarantee that that (constable) Amit Naik will survive inside the Crime Branch lockup? Will he be alive? Why will someone not eliminate him to save themselves. He tried to commit suicide. They said he drank phenol, why did they bring so much and kept it near the toilet? I doubt that he went to the toilet and he drank the phenol. If anyone is doing sincere work, the department is sure to finish them. Day by day the name of Goa is getting spoilt. I pray that there maybe a (court monitored) inquiry.
