NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday once again postponed its Goa Screening Committee meeting to Saturday for selection of candidates for the March 3 Assembly elections.

Party sources said Goa desk incharge Jagmeet Singh Brar got the meeting postponed as he was in the midst of electioneering in Punjab that goes to polls on January 30. He, however, conveyed that he would be able to make it to Delhi for the meeting Saturday evening, after the campaigning ends in his home State.
There were also no talks with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Party General Secretary and Goa election incharge Oscar Fernandes has conveyed to the Goa leaders that the Central Election Committee will meet to consider the steering panel’s recommendations only after the seat-sharing in the electoral alliance with the NCP and any other party is finalised.
