PANJIM: Cuncolim Union thumped hosts Pax of Nagoa Sports Club 2-0 to enter the quarter-finals of Nagoa Panchayat Cup football at Nagoa panchayat ground, Sunday.
Cuncolim forged ahead through Rayan in the very second minute of the match.
After conceding an early goal, the Nagoa boys went all out in search of the equalizer but failed to find the net.
In the dying minutes, Adney Fernandes doubled the lead for Cuncolim Union.
Earlier, Fr Livio D’Mello, parish priest of Nagoa inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Theresa Faria, Sarpanch and others.
