Locals clash with tourists at Khandepar

Police say tourist answering nature’s call in front of a shop led to clash; one tourist injured

PONDA: In a clash between a group of eight tourist and locals, one tourist was injured at Khandepar junction on National Highway, on Sunday evening.
In this connection, one local Sandeep Parkar has lodged complaint against the tourists for breaching peace by their arrogant behaviour.
According to Ponda police, a group of eight tourists from Hyderabad, who had come to Goa, were proceeding towards Usgao and on reaching Khandekar Junction they stopped their Jeep. Some of the tourists were under influence of alcohol. One among them was urinating just in front of a shop of a local.
When the shop owner asked for his in decent behavior, the tourist group misbehaved and their arrogant behaviour led to fight between locals and the tourists due to which one tourist Rajesh Reddy (33) native of Hyderabad was injured and was admitted to Ponda Sub district Hospital.
