to move into the semi-finals of the BSCA Cup football tournament organised by Barebhat Social and Cultural Association Raia in association with Snows Football Academy and Sports Authority of Goa, at Raia ground, on Tuesday.
It was a battle fought between two adjacent neighbours and a tussle between upcoming strikers Llyod Cardozo of Barebhat for Gloria SC and Alvito Moura for Sao Jose de Areal.
Alvito Moura of Areal took control of the ball dribbled past Johny D’Cruz of Gloria and shot towards the goal however Gloria SC goalkeeper saved it in the 3rd minute.
Llyod Cardozo of Gloria SC received ball from Johny D’Cruz but Alviton Silva of Areal tackled his move on the 5th minute.
Llyod Cardozo soon managed to score for Gloria SC in the 23rd minute with a power packed shot after a fine assist from Johny D’Cruz.
Alviton Silva for Sao Jose de Areal released a powerful grounder from the left flank however his shot was saved by Gloria SC goalkeeper in the 28th minute.
Llyod Cardozo scored his brace and 2-0 for Gloria SC in the 34th minute and went on to complete his hat-trick during the injury time.
The rival side tried their best to get back into the game however the defence of Gloria SC stood strong.
Gloria SC will meet Verna SC in the semi-finals on January 9.
