SANGUEM: Dempo Jrs beat Lapaz Gardens CC by 7 runs to emerge champs of the 18th Sanguem T-20 leather ball cricket tournament organised by Sanguem Cricketers, at Sanguem Sports Complex ground, Sanguem, on Sunday.
Dempo Juniors batted first and posted 142 for 7 in allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Lapaz Gardens CC were bundled out for 135 runs. Dempo Jrs were awarded Rs 75,000 and a trophy while Lapaz Gardens had to content with Rs 45,000 plus trophy.
Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Rumaldo Fernandes, Chairperson of Sanguem Municipal Council, Balkrishna Hodarkar, Councilor of Curchorem Municipal Council, Siddhesh Bhise, Chandan Unandkar and Ashish Karmalkar.
