MAYEM: Four candidates from Bicholim taluka on Monday filed their nominations for the ZP polls.
While BJP candidate Manisha Gawas and independent candidate Shubhecsha Gawas filed their nominations for the Pale ZP constituency, BJP candidate Shilpa Naik and independent candidate Sharad Shetye filed their nominations for the Latambarcem ZP constituency.
Deputy Speaker Anant Shet, Sanquelim MLA Dr Pramod Sawant and other supporters along with Manisha Gawas were present while filing the nomination.
Independent candidate Shubhecsha Gawas said voters would get her elected as the BJP had failed in resolving the mining issue. BJP candidate for Latambarcem ZP constituency Shilpa Naik said BJP had been instrumental in raising the standard of living of people in Latambarcem area by executing different schemes and as such she has been getting good response from the voters. Naik was accompanied by Menkurem Sarpanch Nalita Naik, Mulgao Sarpanch Santosh Saraf
and Dr Sawant.
