Holy Spirit Inst hit five past Miracle High School
UTORDA: Holy Spirit Institute, Margao hammered Miracle High School, Sanguem 5-0 to emerge as champions of the South District U-17 boys Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, at Utorda Sports Complex ground, Utorda, on Saturday.
Holy Spirit School led by a goal scored by Saideep Pomburphekar. Tahir Shaikh scored a brace while Harsh and Mevan scored a goal each in the second session for Holy Spirit Institute.
Holy Spirit Institute will play the state final on August 29 at Utorda ground.

ASSOLNA: Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna steamrolled Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem by huge margin of 8-0 to emerge champions of the South District U-17 girls Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament organised by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, at Utorda Sports Complex ground, Utorda, on Saturday. Regina Martyrum High School led 4-0 at the breather. Yukhti Patil, Ianira Fernandes and Daisy Crasto scored a brace each while Priti Kesrekar and Suveda Kokate scored a goal each for Regina Martyrum HS.
The third place was bagged by Our Lady of Piety HS, Collem.
Regina Martyrum HS will play the State final on August 29 at Utorda ground.

DBHS Tuem win by solitary goal
MANDREM: Don Bosco High School, Tuem beat defending champions St Joseph High School, Pernem by a solitary in the U-17 Girls Taluka Subroto Mukherjee final oragnised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Mandrem ground recently.
The teams started at an equal pace but it was Tuem girls who surged ahead in the 12th minute with neat placement through the boots of Natasha Varadkar.
