PANJIM: As many as 30 houses were damaged in the Tiswadi taluka due to heavy rains and gusty winds caused by Cyclone Tauktae on Sunday.
The Tiswadi Mamlatdar’s Office on Monday received preliminary reports from respective Talathis of partial damage to 30 houses mostly due to falling of trees and blowing off roof tiles. Maximum nine houses were partially damaged in the areas of Curca-Bambolim-Telaulim Panchayat.
The affected families have not been evacuated and they are residing in same houses. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
Sources in the Mamlatdar’s Office informed that a detailed report would be prepared within next two days and compensation will be paid to the affected families at the earliest as instructed by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
