VASCO: Several passengers, who were scheduled to fly to Mumbai, were stranded at the Goa International Airport due to the closure of the Mumbai Airport between 11 am and 8 pm on Monday.

Some airlines also cancelled their flights due to bad weather condition and shutting of the Mumbai Airport for some time.
The passengers at the Dabolim Airport, who were scheduled to fly to Mumbai to catch their connecting flight to London and other places, had to face inconvenience, after the Mumbai Airport decided to shut from 11 am to 8 pm, on May 17, as per news reports. Paresh, a passenger, who was at the Goa Airport said he had an Air India flight at 3 pm on Monday, but when he reached at the airport he learnt that the Mumbai Airport was closed for some period.
He even tried to enquire with the airline staff about this delay but was not informed about any development about the flights.
Paresh said that he had a connecting flight from Mumbai to United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Goa Airport on May 17 tweeted “We are operational again after bracing very severe Cyclone Tauktae. First flight 6E7984 from Kannur landed at 0950 hours followed by 9I881 from Mysore at 1040 hours. The concentrated efforts of Team Goa ensured all functions normal.”
Later, Goa Airport Director Gagan Malik said since May 16, due to the Cyclone Tauktae and rough weather conditions, the flights from Gujarat and Mumbai Airports were cancelled since the cyclone moved upwards. On Monday, some airlines like Indigo and Spicejet cancelled their flights.
