According to locals, it is risky for commuters as the passengers alighted at Safa Masjid Junction, are compelled to walk 200 metres to the bus stand.

It may be recalled that there was a junction that allows easy access to the bus stand, but it was closed during road widening.

The locals complained that the local passenger buses illegally make U-turns to save 2 km distance, while the Karnataka buses avoid the U-turn and the Ponda bus stand altogether, thereby putting the lives of passengers at risk.

To address traffic congestion, the National Highway authority is constructing an underpass near the bus stand, which may resolve the issue once completed.
