PANJIM: After a gap of almost 30 months, the Goa Lokayukta office is set to review 22 pending cases filed before it, with fresh hearings in the matter to begin next month.
“We have issued fresh notices to the concerned parties involved in the matter. Fresh hearings will commence from June. This is a procedure we have to follow,” Lokayukta Justice (retd) P K Misra said.
“Whatever is pending before us we will probe as per the law,” he said, confirming that during the last 15 days only one complaint has been received.
Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte had filed a complaint pertaining to the Rs 14 crore scam in the beach cleaning contract, naming Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar as one of the accused.
The 22 pending cases include illegal recruitment in government departments undertaken during the Congress government and a complaint against then chief minister Manohar Parrikar, as chairman of the Goa Planning Board.
