PANJIM: Cuncolim Union stunned Sao Jose de Areal 1-0 to enter the semi-finals of Nagoa Panchayat Cup football organized by Pax of Nagoa Sports Club, Wednesday. There was no score at half time.
Areal started in their customary attacking style and pressurized the Cuncolim defense from the beginning. However, they failed to convert their chances.
After resumption, Cuncolim took the lead in the 47th minute through Wellington D’Souza, who was later adjudged man-of-the-match.
Cuncolim will now meet Parish Youth of Nuvem in the semi-finals.
