IMD issues yellow alert from Sept 13

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa, has issued a yellow alert for September 13, 14, and 15, warning of heavy rainfall expected over several parts of North and South Goa districts. According to the IMD bulletin, heavy rainfall at a few locations is very likely during this period. The forecast also includes the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, with wind speeds reaching 30- 40 kmph, and gusts up to 50 kmph. This alert comes despite relatively dry conditions earlier in the week, with minimal rainfall recorded across the state so far. The sudden shift in weather conditions could impact normal life, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying and floodprone areas. The yellow alert signifies a need to “be aware” and stay updated with local weather forecasts
