Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati arrested in Agra for sexual harassment and Rs 20 crore fraud; Delhi court rejects bail, police continue investigation.

Spiritual leader Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, former director of Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management-Research, was arrested at 3:30 am in Agra after being on the run for days.

The 62-year-old faces multiple allegations of sexual harassment, including forcing students to visit his quarters late at night and sending inappropriate messages. He is also accused of misappropriating Rs 20 crore from the Peetham by creating a fraudulent trust and withdrawing funds illicitly.

Authorities had issued a Look-Out Notice, and a Delhi court rejected his anticipatory bail plea in connection with a financial irregularities case. The probe is ongoing into the godman’s alleged crimes and misappropriation.
