Army chief issues stern warning to Pakistan over potential threats

Indian Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi issues a stern warning to Pakistan, promising no restraint if state-sponsored terrorism continues, following Operation Sindoor 1.0.

Indian Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi issued a stark warning to Pakistan on Friday, stating that the armed forces would not exercise restraint “like in Operation Sindoor 1.0” if the neighbouring nation continued state-sponsored terrorism.

“This time we will do something that Pakistan will have to think about—whether it wants to remain on the map,” said Dwivedi.

The warning follows remarks by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who highlighted stalled dialogue over Sir Creek and emphasised that any attempt by Pakistan would be met with strong measures. Singh noted that the Indian Army and BSF are vigilantly protecting the borders, adding, “One route to Karachi passes through the creek.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated that India remains prepared to respond decisively to any future terror attacks. Meanwhile, IAF chief Amar Preet Singh dismissed Pakistan’s claims of downing Indian fighter jets during Operation Sindoor as “sweet fantasies,” confirming that India destroyed several Pakistani jets.

The statement comes amid repeated Pakistani claims following India’s retaliatory operations after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists.
