Former MLA and Minister Churchill Alemao has announced that he will contest the 2027 Goa Assembly elections from the Benaulim constituency.
Alemao said that during his tenure as MLA and Minister, he had undertaken several development works in Benaulim, but claimed that no progress has been made in the past three and a half years.

“The present MLA is very arrogant and has failed to deliver on development. Villagers from Benaulim have approached me and expressed that they want me to contest the next Assembly elections. Therefore, I will contest the 2027 Goa Assembly polls,” Alemao stated.
He added that his decision was driven by requests from local residents who are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs in the constituency.
