The Bicholim Municipal Council has decided to take a firm stand on recovering more than ₹4 crore in pending taxes that have remained uncollected for several years. The issue, discussed at nearly every monthly meeting, continues to pose challenges for the municipality due to delays in payments by some individuals and entities.
Officials revealed that while tax collection from government offices has been satisfactory, arrears from private taxpayers remain a concern.
