Fischer explained that while salaries may be higher in the US, daily expenses are proportionally far higher as well. She compared costs of several common services:
- Haircuts: $15-$50 in the US vs $1.20-$2.50 in India
- WiFi: $80/month in the US vs $8/month in India
- Movie tickets: $12-$16 in the US vs $2.50-$5 in India
- Doctor visits: $150-$600 in the US vs $7-$17 in India
- Utility bills: $200+ in the US vs $40-$50 in India
